I just upgraded my exchange 2007 from SP2 RU4 to SP3. When I looked at the Msftesql.exe search engine I noticed the file version says 14.0.4999.1039 and the description says "Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal 2004" instead of "PKM executable" which was the description of the file under SP2 RU4. Does that mean that Microsoft is moving towards using the search engine of SharePoint on exchange? Also, can someone shed some light on what the new version of MSSearch 3.1 does different from 3.0 back in SP2.

Exchange 2007 SP3 updates the MSSearch binary files to MSSearch 3.1. Hello Evan, This process just recently started consuming almost 100% of the CPU. Our Exchange server's performance is being affected as a result. Can I just end this process? ThanksJason
