Question about the Exchange 2013 Sizer

Hi all !

I'm trying to understand what are the default setting in the Exchange Calculator for user access clients ?

For me, the sizer takes care very well of incoming and outgoing mails in the mailbox profile.
But does the sizer consider that the users are connected using OA, OWA, Activesync, both ?

For Blackberry, I remember we have to add 1.5x multiplier in the megacycles multiplication factor.

But how can we configure that for example 50% of users are using Outlook, 50% are using OWA and 25% are Activesync users ?

Thank you for your feedback. Have a nice weekend !

Use the different tier sections.

Example: Tier-1 Outlook in cache mode, Tier-2 OWA, Tier-3 Enter the number of ActiveSync users, etc,,,

For the multiplier, I would leave the defaults as is, except for ActiveSync, I would bump that up to 1.3

Hi,

Please refer to the following article to size the Exchange 2013 Deployment:

http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/05/06/ask-the-perf-guy-sizing-exchange-2013-deployments.aspx

Generally, CAS CPU is sized as a ratio from Mailbox role CPU. Specifically, we need to get 37.5% of the megacycles used to support active users on the Mailbox role. One way to compute this would be to look at the total active user megacycles required for the solution, take 37.5% of that, and then determine the required CAS server count based on high availability requirements and multi-site design constraints.
