Question on Free/Busy Public Folders
Hi
I've had something that has been confusing me for a while, but I've never had a satisfying answer to this:
Let's say I have 5 Exchange servers, Exch1 - Exch5.
If I look at the Public Folder store of each server:
Public Folder Store > Public Folders
Then I can see a folder named "Schedule+Free Busy Information".
Does this PF contain information on the Free/Busy time of everyone in the Org, Admin Group, or just that particular server? And what is the effect of losing this?
Secondly, if I navigate to the Public Folder store, I can also see
Public Folder Instances
and
Public Folders
What is the difference between the two?
Hope someone can help.

Unless you've replicated the F/B folder from another administrativegroup to this public folder store, the only F/B folder would be theone representing the published F/B time of mailboxes that have alegacyExchangeDN property value whose "/o=.../ou=..." value is thesame as the legacyExchangeDN name of the administrative group.Since you can move mailboxes between sites, it isn't possible to know, just by looking at the location of the mailbox, where it publishes itsF/B info.If you have no other replica of the folder it can be pretty serious. It's one of the 'site folders' and you'd have to recreate the wholeset of site folders using a new GUID. There's a MS KB articledescribing how to recreate the site folders and what actions areneeded afterwards.>Secondly, if I navigate to the Public Folder store, I can also see >>Public Folder Instances >>and >>Public Folders >>What is the difference between the two? ---
