RPC Vdir settings revert after 5-10 minutes
Hi all,I have been struggling to get Outlook Anywhere working properly for some time now, and I have figured out pretty much exactly what my specific problem is, but I can't resolve it for the life of me.The SSL settings for the RPC virtual directory need to be set to Require SSL, Ignore certificates. When I go in to IIS config and set that, I can then test and connect to Outlook Anywhere from my clients. The problem is, this setting will revert to not requiring ssl, and accepting certificates after around 5-10 minutes. At this point, any currently connected clients will continue to function, however restarting Outlook means the client can no longer connect (until I go and adjust the settings in IIS and then it works again for a little while).Any ideas what is causing this or how I can track how it is being reverted?

Modify the PeriodicPollingMinutes registry key, as per the steps given below On the Exchange server that has the Client Access server role installed, open Registry Editor. Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeServiceHost\RpcHttpConfigurator\ Right-click PeriodicPollingMinutes and then click Modify. In the Value data field, enter a value of "0" without quotation marks. Close Registry Editor. Restart the Microsoft Exchange Service Host service for changes to take effect. Which IIS version do you use on the CAS server? Please check the same setting on the default web site, verify if it also set as Require SSL and Ignore certificates Is there any related event in the application log on the CAS server when the settings revert back? Please use the last two answers in this thread to troubleshoot the issue

I think Harpreet's post will end up being the solution, as I applied that first and have not had a problem since, however for completeness here are the answers to the above questions:IIS 7 on SBS 2008Default Website is set to Require SSL and Ignore Certificates, however since this is SBS, the RPC directory is in the SBS Web Applications site which does not have those set (because that would break activesync, i think.)There is nothing logged in the event log that I could find, that was the first think I looked for (Who's modfiying my vDIR!!!!)Waiting to see if there are further problems to use the linked troubleshooting because I think the first suggestion nailed it.Thanks for your help!
