Reaching outlook externally
Hi there, At work I think we have an Outlook 2003 exchange server, which we can access from the outside via the online version of Outlook through Internet Explorer, however I would like to intergrate it within my own actual standaloneOutlook at home, I dont have the address I need I was just wondering would it be the same as the URL we are given at work (which takes us to some online version of outlook). If it isnt, how can I find out at work what the address would be? Without asking the administrator as he really wants us using the online outlook, and probably doesnt know what the address is, as he isnt really a techy.TIA

Hi, this feature is called RPC over HTTPS, and this needs to be configured on your internal exchange servers inorder to be able to use it from outisde. since you are using Outlook Web Access - OWA, the online outlook that you are talking about, and if your network administrator configured your exchange servers for RPC over HTTPS feature on your network, then YES, you needs to configure the Exchange Proxy Settings on your outlook profile at home to use this Address, with other settings which you needs to provide inorder to use this feature. i will provide you with these settings once you are sure that your exchange organization or setup is configured for RPC over HTTPS, you check with your network administrator if this feature is enabled on your exchange servers or not. waiting for your reply.

Hi there...would you please assist me in configuring Web Outlook. I don't think it's enabled since I can't access it by mail.domain.com/exchange. I have been a technician for over 7 years and have taken exchange classes but it was long ago. Recently, I've gotten out of the business and am helping my boss with our network here. Any help would be appreciated! Kim Eriksen keriksen@fcaconnect.com

Well, its an easy task to do, but you have to read about RPC over HTTPS senarios and deployment inorder to apply the best senario that fits your production network. here is the link RPC over HTTPS deployment senarios, i advice you to go through this document first, then get back to me if you need more help or if you didn't understand any point from this article: Exchange Server 2003 RPC over HTTP Deployment Scenarios http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998950.aspx Regards, Alaa Al-Ankar
