Recomendations before installing Microsoft Office Servers
I know there are risks using Beta software but how safe is it to run on a day to day busy server? I am concerned about data loss and recovery. Since Beta software is not really supported, how safe is this process? I'm sure we will make the transition to the 2007 version upon release but what till then?
Thank you...

If you're not part of our Technology Adoption Program (TAP) or Rapid Deployment Program (RDP), then you don't want to run Exchange 2007 in production environments. This would be completely unsupported, and you do not want to risk your organization's messaging capabilities or data by running Exchange 2007 in an unsupported environment.
You definitely want to install it in a lab environment, and start working with it, even if you have a lot of Exchange experience. There's a lot of new functionality and some new architecture in Exchange 2007, and it really is the next generation of Exchange.
When you say, "what until then" are you saying that you currently do not have a messaging environment and you need e-mail for your organization?

Thanks for you assistance. I am currently managing Windows Server 2003. Our exchange server is up and running. My comment "What until then?" was directed more towards if I install the 2007 versions and run into problems, what should I do until February. I am enthusiastic for this upcomming business suite however I think I will do like you said and manage the beta items in a test environment. So far, the functionality of the Beta suite has been outstanding. I am looking forward to it's final release. I thank you for your input.

You're welcome! If you run into any problems in your test environment and you can't find the answers in the documentation at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69434, post back in one of these forums and someone should be able to help you out.
