Recover data without DC
I was running a windows 2003 Dc and a windows 2003 member server, running exchange server 2003 STD The DC went bad, and is now out of service, needless to say, all my clients lost email connectivity as well. The exchange server is not loading the Information store etc, to allow me to recover the emails, and what I really need bad, the public shares like calendar and contacts Please advise, something cheaper than $900 that I see out there.

The only option you have is to Export the PST from the client Machine if they were in Cache Mode. In this situation, what is important is, is your Exchange server's data. Did you tried to introduced new DC in the environment? Gulab | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2010 | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2007 | MCC 2011 | Skype: Gulab.Mallah | Blog: www.ExchangeRanger.blogspot.com

Install another DC , Do a DR if you have from the AD / System state backup and recover exchange. You need to mount the DB to export the mails to PST\s There is a long process if you cannot recover the same system state backup , you can install the DC with same org name ,SG name etc and db

Check out Lucid8's DigiScope http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp $ 375 for a single database 3 month project license and it can open the raw offline EDB so that you can then export to PST, MSG and XML formats or if you want to move the data directly into a new servers production database buy a 2 store pack for $ 650 and you can move the data direct from the offline EDB into the production server without having to go to PST first. Can even match mailboxes from old EDB to names in new server etc.Troy Werelius www.Lucid8.com

Use the EDB recovery software to recover the lost emails, if you have access to the EDB file of the Exchange Server database.
