Recovering Public Folder Data
Recently our Exchange 2003 SP2 server ceased functioning. A new server was purchased, Exchange 2003 SP2 installed and mailboxes from the Acronis full backup were restored. Problem was the public store would not restore. After several attempts and talking to Acronis support I simply dismounted the public store database, copied the pub1.mdb and pub1.stm files from the old server to the new and remounted the database. The good news is the operation established the public folders we had. The bad news is a lot of info was not transferred.I still have on the old server all the Exchange db files and logs. What method can I use to recover the info that was in the public folders on the old server??

I need to mention that the Exchange on the old server will not start. I just have the files and logs not a usable server.

You need to replay the log files into the database, please backup the original copy of the data before start
Please ensure the database is clean shutdown, verify the first log to start replaying in the Last Consistent log field in the Database header, and then refer to the Advanced Soft Recovery Scenarios section in this article to do a soft recovery

Please use KB 248122 to test the integrity of the log files
