Redirecting mail destined for purged mailbox
p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:'Calibri','sans-serif';} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {color:blue;text-decoration:underline;text-underline:single;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {color:purple;text-decoration:underline;text-underline:single;} span.EmailStyle16 {font-family:'Calibri','sans-serif';color:windowtext;} .MsoChpDefault {;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in;margin:1.0in 1.0in 1.0in 1.0in;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} A quandary: We have a user who quit and was re-hired shortly thereafter. His original mailbox was purged. Some co-workers still have old messages from his original mailbox and when they reply (expecting it to go to his new mailbox), they get the requisite DSN that the mailbox doesnt exist in the org. I thought that if I added an SMTP address to his account in the form of old-legacyExchangeDN@domain.com that it would resolve but its not working apparently. Any ideas on how to redirect mail to that old mailbox to his new one?

Hi David, If you know the legacyExchangeDN of old account then you can add it as a X500 address which will solve the problem. In case you don't know old legacyExchangeDN butyou have any of the old mail which has sent by deleted user then open mailbox with MFCMapi and check a property namedPR_SENDER_EMAIL_ADDRESS of that mail, value of this propertyis the same as old LegacyExchangeDn. Add that value as a X500 address of newly created user. And yes, legacyExchangeDN format would be like below, that you need to add as a X500 address.. /ou=<your organization name> /ou=<your organizational unit> /cn=recipients /cn=<alias>
