Redundant Paths
Hey guys need some help.I have 2 sites with an internet connection. Site A have all of my Mailbox, CAS, HUB and Edge servers and my primary internet connection. Site B has a backup internet connection. I am trying to figure out a way that if Site A loses its internet connection, to start routing mail out through Site B. If email gets to the DMZ Edge servers in Site A, our network team will not allow the Site A Edge servers to connect to DMZ Edge servers in Site B. I plan on having Edge servers and HUB servers in Site B due to other systems using the Edge serversfor local relays.Site B Edge servers cannot directly talk to Site A, so they will need to rely on another internal mail relay server to get to Site A, hence the Site B HUB servers.IfIhave anEdge subscription between the Site A Hub and Edge servers only and Edge subscription between Site B Hub and Edge servers, is there any kind of intellegence in those Edge subscriptions to notify the corresponding HUB server that the internet connection is down and to look at the alternate path? Any ideas on how I can have some kind of high availability if our primary connection goes down? Thanks guys!Mike

hi ,for inbound email you have to configured multiple MX records .each site has a edge transprt server .http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdeploy/thread/99bf9709-504e-4c6b-8c46-fb79b7f1e1f9.For outbound emails .You have to create multipe send connector and they have different smart hosts and cost must be same .http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrtransport/thread/2dd0280a-6588-46b2-b49e-331fd50c2680http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/01/04/432069.aspxRegards Syed Arsalansyed.arsalan
