We just got done installing Exchange Server 2013. All is working well except for one problem. We have a website that users register for events. After registration the user is supposed to receive an email confirmation. That email is never sent/received IF the email address is external i.e yahoo.com. The message is received if I use an internal email address i.e. mydomain.com to register. I have created a FrontendTransport receive connector and added the internal IP Address of the web server and still no go. Authentication is set to TLS and Permission Groups is set to Anonymous. Funny thing is I have two other servers added to that same receive connector that send out external notifications and those are being sent and received just fine. The difference between the web server and other two servers is this is a Linux box running Drupal and the other two are Windows boxes. I did trace on a successfully delivered internal message and the message is being sent by the default Drupal/Apache user www-data@www.mydomain.com by postfix.

Any help would be most appreciated,

Enable Protocol logging on the connector and see if anything of value is logged after you send a test message

If I use telnet on the linux box:

I can successfully connect to the Exchange server. When attempting to send a message from the telnet client on the linux box I get

550 5.7.1 Message rejected as spam by Content Filtering.

I believe the content filter is on the Exchange box correct? Can I add the sender and domain of the linux box to a whitelist of some sort on Exchange?

Thank you for all the replies. I've learned allot. I was able to send a message to an external address from the Linux box via telnet after temporarily disabling the content filter which tells me the problem is on the Linux box. The message actually gets sent from a "Home Grown" PHP application which I inherited when I took the job here. I found a small PHP script to send a test message at the PHP level and no go, the message does not go through. I've contacted the developer to hhave him take a look and also moved this discussion to the Linux forums.
