Remote Wipe
We had an employee leave recently who was using activesync for his email on his treo. I wanted to remote wipe his device, but when I go into the website, and try to lookup his device in the remote wipe section, I get a error that says "Failed to access the user's mailbox, verify that the mailbox and user account are enabled and functional." I am performing this as an enterprise admin with full exchange rights, and I have verifies that ssl is not required as the microsoft article states. Anyone have any ideas?

Travis,Just taking a shot in the dark, is the account hidden from the address book or disabled? I know when trying to use Outlook to look up a mailbox, if the account is hidden from the address book it wont. That is in my environment in Exchange 2003. If it is I'd try to enable the account temporarily to send the wipe command or show it in the address book. Not sure if that will work but might be worth a try. Mark Morowczynski

unfortunately I have, and I have checked both items the article references. I also have uninstalled and reinstalled the mobile admin apps.

Hi,
This problem can occur because the authentication method of the Web server is not configured correctly. Please refer to the following steps and test the issue again.
1. Start Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. To do this, click Start, click Run, type inetmgr.exe , and then click OK.
2. In IIS Manager, expand the server, expand Web sites, expand Default Web Site, right-click MobileAdmin, and then click Properties.
3. In the MobileAdmin Properties dialog box, click the Directory Security tab.
4. In the Authentication and access control area, click Edit.
5. In the Authentication Methods dialog box, type a slash mark ( / ) in the Default Domain box, and then click OK.
6. In the Secure communications section, click Edit.
7. Verify the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) settings, and then click OK.
8. In the MobileAdmin Properties dialog box, click OK.
9. Right-click Default Web Site, and then click Stop.
10. Right-click Default Web Site, and then click Start.
11. Click Start, click Run, type iisreset , and then click OK.
12. In Windows Internet Explorer, open the following Web page:
https:// server_name /mobileadmin
13. Enter the mobile user alias, and then click Search.

I am having the same issue as Travis. I have followed the proposed solutions but I am unable to locate the devices to wipe. I noticed when I looked at the Transaction Log in the Mobileadmin website nothing appears. Has anyone been able to solve this?
