Remove Reference to Redundant Exchange Server
Hi Folks,I have a reference to a redundant Exchange 07 instance that is appearing in Client Access and Hub Transport. How can I remove it. The reference is a result of a trial install of Exchange 07 on test machine. Thanks,Adam

Hi Adam,
I'm not clear what's your problem.
You mean you want to remove a redundant certificate from your Exchange server? Or you mean you have redundant CAS and hub server in your organization?
I await your reply. Thanks,
Elvis

Hi Elvis,I have an existing exchange install called Exchange0701. After this was commisioned I wanted to created another machine to use temporarily as a testbed before rolling out changes called Exchange0702. WHen Iinstalled Exchangeon Exchange0702references to it became visible in Client Access and Hub Transport on Exchange0701.Exchange0702has since been decomissioned. It was never used to host any mailboxes. Some users are now being prompted to enter credentials for Exchange0702 repeatedly whilst Outlook is open.I want to remove references to Exchange0702 from Exchange0701 in Client Access and Hub Transport. Thanks,Adam

No I just turned off the VM and deleted the VHD.

Hi Adam,It's a bad idea to remove exchange by simply deleting the VHD file directly. The server is still exist in Active Directory. Given the current situation, I suggest you setup a new server, then use /m:recoverserver swithc to recover the deleted server, then delete it in add/remove programs.
