Remove old test server from Exchagne Management Console
I was doing some testing in our test lab here in my office and had a server that crashed. It was running Exchange 2007 Sp1. I then brought up a new server with a different name. It is working properly, but every time I go into the exchange management console I get the following errors when the console is loading looking for the old non existant server: The following error(s) were reported while loading topology information: Get-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectoryFailedError:Unable to create Internet Information Services (IIS) directory entry. Error message is: Access is denied.. HResult = -2147024891. Access is denied. Get-OabVirtualDirectoryFailedError:Unable to create Internet Information Services (IIS) directory entry. Error message is: Access is denied.. HResult = -2147024891. Access is denied. Get-OWAVirtualDirectoryFailedError:Unable to create Internet Information Services (IIS) directory entry. Error message is: Access is denied.. HResult = -2147024891. Access is denied. The new server works correctly but I want to removethe old serverthat is still showing up, totaly from the console so that I no longer receive these errors. Thanks in advance ! !

you could build a temporary server (VM) with the original name, run Exchange setup in recoverserver mode, then uninstall.
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

Hello Jonny, If you didn't move resources and PF replication, you can be using ADSIEdit.msc to remove the old server entry. You can use this kb http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=278918. Ps.: If that was your first server you will see some errors in the OAB and all that stuff, you have to configure it later on to point out to the new server.
