Removing Additional DC and Exchange 2000 from Exchange 2000 Environment !!!
Hi guys,Below is my scenario:1. Windows 2000 DC/GC/E2K2. Additional Windows 2000 DC/E2K which was created just for 2 days as the above mentioned server needed to be formatted. Now the original server which is no. 1 is ready and is a DC/GC/E2K and all the mailboxes are moved back to it. I need to remove the seconde server completely now. Could you please give me the steps on how to go about it?I understand that I need to demote it and then remove Exchange from it. But is there any manual removals or other things apart from these 2 that I need to take care of?Please let me know and thanks in advance for your help.Regards,Dude.

Transfer the FSMO's to the new DC.Run DCPROMO on the DC in question to demote (make sure that every thing is fine on the new DC)Once this becomes a member server follow this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307917to remove this exchange from the AD.Raj

Hi,Yes, you need to transfer AD roles first and then migrate Exchange, the following article for your reference:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997176(EXCHG.65).aspxThanks,Elvis
