I'm using Exchange 2003 Enterprise Edition on Server 2003 Standard Edition. On the Limits tab I set "Keep Deleted items for (days)" to 90. It doesn't remove the deleted items. Is the number of days keyed off of the date or the number of days in the deleted items? What do I need to do to get rid of these items? Thanks, Bob

Hi, This setting does not remove the deleted items (you need to use a mailbox policy to do this). The setting makes it possible for users to recover items that have been soft deleted and removed from the deleted items folder. Leif

Here is a good article that will get you started: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/MF012.html I always configure mailbox manager to delete the data in the Deleted Items folders that is older than 7 to 14 days (whatever the customer is happy with).
