Removing Exchange 2000 Server without CD
We upgraded Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 around 3 years ago. We never fully removed Exchange 2000 from the old server. Now we are about to migrate from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 and I was hoping to finally remove the Exchange 2000 instance. The server is a Win 2k Server that is a domain controller, but I about to demote it in order to raise the domain/forest functionality level to 2003. I went to Add/Remove programs and tried to remove Exchange 2000, but it is asking for Disk 1 of Exchange 2000 CD, which I cannot find anywhere. I have seen some sites that explain how to remove it without the CD but it looks scary! I would much rather do a clean uninstall so it can remove it from Exchange System Manager correctly. Has anyone ever done this or does anyone have an Exchange 2000 CD that they can rip and send to me? i need the i386/exchange dir to remove Exchange. Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks, Joe

Per my search, there’s no exchange 2000 CD on the web. Please contact Microsoft CSS (Customer Service and Support) for how to get the installation disc [US, outside of US]Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
