Removing Exchange 2010 from Child Domain
I'm looking to dcpromo out a child domain - however I have already prepped the domain for Exchange 2010 in the past. Do I still need to do anything to remove the Exchange objects before doing a DCpromo to remove? Exchange is not installed on
any servers in that domain, so nothing to physically remove - just the AD objects.
I do not want to remove it from the other domain in the forest.

What about users in the domain that have mailboxes? Mail-enabled
groups in the domain? Anything in the Microsoft Exchange System
Objects container of the AD?

Hi
setup /PrepareAD [/OrganizationName:<organization name>] or setup /p [/on:<organization name>]
This command performs the following tasks:
If the Microsoft Exchange container doesn't exist, this command creates it under CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=<root domain>.
If no Exchange organization container exists under CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=<root domain >, you must specify an organization name using the
/OrganizationName parameter. The organization container will be created with the name that you specify.

please check this object.
Are there any linked mailboxs in your child domain?
If there isnt anything in exchange object you can dcpromo this AD.
