Renaming Resource Mailbox - exchange 2k7
Hi,
We are implementing a cisco solution for video conferencing, which requires that all the meeting rooms (resource mailboxes) should be in one domain.
For this we are looking to move the exchange 2007 resource mailboxes from other domain. We also need to rename these rooms to reflect the v-conf. availability in these rooms.
Is it OK to move the mailboxes and rename them?
I wanted to know, if renaming the resource mailbox impact the existing meetings scheduled on the room calendar.
Will the new name gets updated on the already scheduled meetings?
Please suggest the best way to acomplish this.
we are on exchange 2007 SP1.

Between AD domain? You'd have to use the movetree.exe utility or ADMT
to do that. Mailboxes are the problem -- it's the AD user object that
needs to be moved, and moving between domains changes the DN of the
object and, IIRC, its SID.

I don't think so, but why not create a test room in one domain,
schedule some meetings for it, and then rename it?
You can use the account to practice moving the user between domains,
too.

See above.

Well, you could always ask Cisco. They always seem to want to be in
control of everything. :-)
