Repeating Accepted meeting Request Emails
Hi,
I am having a problem from exchange 2010. My CFO accepeted a meeting from outside user. That accepted meeting is now sending repeated emails stating that he has accepted the email. It has now gone over a thousand emails to the external
user.
Here is my config
Exchange 2010 sp1
User is using a combo MAC/IPAD/IPHONE setup to access his email .
His mailbox also has one delegate that could accept the meeting. This was not the case in this instance.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,

Yeah, pick one device and do all calendaring work with it.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

My CFO uses the ipad or iphone or mac. I was hoping for any ideas of why exchange decided that it should repeat multiple accepted emails base on 1 meeting being accepted. If I could get him to use just one device that would be great. Just
not an option.
Thanks for the reply

When your CFO uses multiple clients for this plus having a delegate on other platforms, he's just asking for this sort of thing to happen. Every device runs a different system, some software is non-Microsoft (that which is in Apple), and who know
what more add-ins he has that "helps" with scheduling. The only sure way to keep scheduling problems from happening is to do it all in one place. Tell him to have his delegate accept or reject all his meetings for him, and do it in the same place
every time.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi Vak66,
Do you mean the issue only occurs on your CFO mailbox until now?
Can you reproduce it on your mailbox?
I have involved one higher support engineer to troubleshoot the issue. So if possible, please provide more inforamtion as you can. Thanks.

Hi,
I cannot reproduce the issue with my mailbox. My CFO is using a macbook, an ipad and an iphone. Once he accepted the meeting request from a user outside the environment the accepted email started to replicate. The meeting originator started
receiving a accepted email in their inbox several times a minute. I tried to reproduce this by sending another user in my environment a test meeting requests and having them accepted from each of the devices that the cfo uses.
Update on my exchange environment
I am now on exchange 2010 sp2 RU4

Seriously, what I said is true.
If you can't get him to standardize, then do make sure his OS is up to date on all devices. But I have plenty of exprience to tell you that there isn't much else you can do to fix calendaring issues when you have a user that insists on having and using
one of everything. The various versions of software have problems and they're problems you can't fix.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

My CEO is having the same problem...
He uses Iphone 4, he also have delegates on his mailbox
the problem accured when he accept a meeting on his Iphone when he was abroad.
Like everyone said, it keep sending thousands of accept messeges..
To stop it, i re-accept the messege on his computer (XP SP3 with MO2007)
i dont realy know what is causing it, but for what i see he is accepting meeting with no problem here, it is happening when he is abroad.
could it be related?
