Reply Emails Received - New Emails not Received
Hi all
After a recent Exchange server 2010 rebuild, certain remote users are reporting issues.
One user, who accesses messages via OWA, claims that he receives replies to outgoing messages, but new messages sent to him are not being received. He is only learning of failed messages by follow up phone calls. Other than incorrect addressing
of the emails sent to him, is there a reason why he should not receive these? Does it take time for the new server "credentials" to populate the Internet? The user in question is in Ukraine.
Thanks
Phil

If you are not changing anything on the Internet domain space or the Global DNS entries change for your domain, then those email will hit your exchange for sure, even if a rebuild occurs.
check the queue viewer, whether any of those external email or in orphaned state. If nothing found, check whether any error message received at the external user end to know the cause of the issue

Do you use third party smart host i.e. postini or mimecast? if so check their logs first to make sure the mail is reaching there before it gets passed through to exchange.

If it is a rebuilt server, have you checked "Anonymous Users" in the permissions tab of the receive connector.
An out of the box 2010 install does not allow inbound emails from the internet.Rajith Enchiparambil |
