Resize Exchange 2003 Database
I have an exchange 2003 Standard with sp2. The size of all that data files (in the mdbdata directory) is 18.8 GB. How big can my databse get before I each the limits. Is ther a way to shrink the databse and/or increase
the limit. The Exchane 2003 is version 6.5.7638.1 (Sp2 October 2005).
Thanks.

Maximum DB size that you can have on E2k3 SP2 Standard edition is 75GB.
To increase the limit, You will have to modify the registry as mentioned in below article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912375
To shrink the Database size. You will have to run the offline defrag and that will remove the whitespace from your database and shrink the size.

And note the limit is a logical one, not physical. So, the store itself can reach a maximum of 75GB, the file on disk could be larger with white space included.

Hi
The log of database also take up capacity. You can move them to other volume and save database volume capacity.
