Restoring a subfolder from a Public folder store using an copy of the pub1.edb file
We recently removed our Exchange 2003 server and installed a new Exchange 2003 server for hardware upgrade purposes. The old server has been removed from the environment but we have a copy of the pub1.edb file from the old server - the copy is several weeks old. One subfolder did not get replicated to the new server. What would be the best way to do this?

You have two options here,1. Build an isolated recovery environment with same Exchange Organization,Admin Group, Servernames and mount the public folder on it if it is in clean shutdown state.2. Find some third-party tool to get the data from the flat edb file without mounting it. Ontrack has PowerControl for Exchange to do so.http://www.ontrackpowercontrols.com/solutions/exchange-email-recovery/Public Folder Recovery FAQs.http://searchexchange.techtarget.com/generic/0,,sid43_gci1253656,00.htmlAmit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
