Hi Guys, I need to configure my Exchange 2007 to restrict internet emails. I used to do that in MS Exchange 2000 & 2003. Canyouplease help me do it in Exchange 2007? Any link? Thank you

You must create a sendconnector to be able to send mail to Internet. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998662.aspx most likely the Internet type

I already have an internet connector and i can send external email but i want to deny some users from sending internet emails. It was possible to do it in MS ex 2003 where u do some modifications on the registry and something on the smtp connector. How can i do it in ms exchange 2007? thank you

In Exchange 2007 you dont do this on the connector itself. Use Transport rules to accomplich the same thing. Create a DL "Deny send mail to Internet" and add users to it. Create a transport rule with conditions "from a member of a DL" and "sent to people outside your org.", DL should be the one previously created.Action should be "send a bounce message...". when users that are member of the "Deny send to Internet" tries to send a mail to Internet they will get a NDR back with a deny message.

Thanks, this worked great, except for one problem ... we have 6-8 external domains that we allow "another group-Limited" to send to. Scenario: LIMITED group that can send to 6-8 domains, DENY group that cannot not send to anyoneunless they area member fo the LIMITED group (where they could send to 6-8 domains). Your previous suggestion got me over one hurdle, but I can't seem to get over the LIMITED hurdle. Tried using msg classification through another rule, but if the "to" field containing multiple addresses and only one of those were valid for LIMITED, the msg would still be sent. Sending should only be allowed to the 6-8 domains. Probably very confusing, but hope someone can help.

I think you're in for some developing of a transport agent. in your transport agent you can create your logic of allow/deny users to certain domains. take a look at SDK for Exchange 2007 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa562613.aspx there is some examples of transport agents in there that could be a good starting point

I got some requirements from customer that the customer want their users to send mail only to another user in same domain and do not allow user to send to another domain in same Exchange organization.
