Background: I use a retention policy to delete items older than 30 days in the deleted items folder. Problem: When I move a mailbox from 2007 to 2010 each items purge date gets reset to 30 days. Why would the retention time basically be reset to allow 30 days, and why would it not delete a message older than 30 days? Yes, it reset the age, but i am living with it. It just means I have to wait for the purging to take place.
