Retention settings for an individual User Inbox
I have a customer that has a dedicated mailbox for SPAM, that Symantec uses to put SPAM emails into.
What I would like to do if possible is setup a retention setting / policy on this users Inbox, which will move emails into the deleted Items folder every two weeks.
I have setup a 1 day retention for the deleted mailbox, but I need the emails to stay in the Inbox for two weeks.
Can anyone please let me know hos this can be done?

Hi,
Did you configure MRM (Message record managment) in your ORG. To address this problem you can push this mailbox into MRM policy.
For more detail to configure it go thru below article step by step (Both Part)

Hi Anil,
Thanks for your advise :)
I have setup a MRM rule and policy to match what I need to do.
Can you please tell me how it is possible to empty a users mailbox via EMC or powershell?
You see the old mailbox had millions of spam e-mail (the old admin never cleaned it up for the last year) and I need to know how I can remove the e-mails with out using a e-mail client.

Bora

OK,
In Exchange 2007, you can use the Export-Mailbox cmdlet to export or delete messages.

In Exchange 2010 SP1, the functionality to export a mailbox is provided by the
New-MailboxExportRequest

Thanks Anil,
More Questions :P
1) So in 2007 what is the best way to search all mailbox's to find an e-mail that has come in from a specific email address?
i.e. I want to search all mailbox's for an email that has come from "noreply@seek.com.au" ?
In regards to your reply above, I did try that but as there was 49k + items in the mailbox it looked like it wanted to cache the mailbox before deleting it and memory wasn't doing to well.
Cheers,
Bora

Hi Bora,
This is not possible in Exchange 2007 as multi mailbox search feature is available only Exchange 2010. You have to have only Export-Mailbox feature in exchnage 2007.
