Retrieving Outlook Calendars
Greetings.I am helping a friend administer Exchange Server 2003 on a Small Business Server. He would like to access their old Outlook calendars that were shared but they are located on the old server. I would like to import them into the new server/exchange. Where can I find them and how can I import them?I am relatively new to Server/Exchange admin but not a complete rookie. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Nick

Issue description: How to export outlook calendar from old server?
Is the old server running now? Which version of exchange used on the old server?
If the old server is removed from the environment, we can recover the store, and then use ExMerge to export those mailboxes to PST file
You can restore old server to an isolated environment by using backup files, if you doesnt have the files any more, install an identical environment just like the old server then put the store in it and mount. This document will explain how to perform the procedures

The old server is still running because there is one old legacy program(point of sale app on it(we don't have the CD and the company doesn't exist anymore) so one workstation is still pointed to the old server. I'd like to just grab the folders off the old exchange server and bring them into the new exchange server. I don't believe the old Exchange server is running, but I can check to make sure.

I understood that you want to just grab the folders off, but its not that simple. Due to the security reason, we cant just move or copy the information in mailboxes directly from those database files

Thank you all for responding!Certain users want to be able to access their old calendar(it has the vacation schedule on it) and these calendars reside on the old server. I wasn't around when everything was migrated. Are you then saying that it is not possible to access the old calendars? I'm thinking when everything was cut over to the new server that all the mail data migrated, also? Is it just a matter of locating it on the new server? Please forgive my simple questions.

If you want to access those calendars directly on the file level, for example, you know that old calendars is in a database file, and you want to grab the old calendar directly from the database file, then yes, its not possible to access the old calendars in that way
All mail data should be migrated, you can try to locate those mailboxes that contains the old shared calendars on the new server. And also try to contact the staffs who were actually doing the migration process, they may know more related information which can help to get the calendar more efficiently

Evidently the old Exchange Server became corrupted and they couldn't migrate all the data, so the calendars never came over. The "M" drive on the old server is empty. C'est la vie. Thanks everyone for your input.

If you are able to find the backup tape that contains the old exchange database, you may still recover the data to an isolate environment, in order to retrieve the calendar
