Reverse look configuration for sending mails
Hi All, I have question regarding reverse lookup. I have static IP for receiving emails (MX -> 78.38.2.8), however, My hub transport is using other IP address (78.38.2.9) sending mails. which is also static for internet access. My mx records are inbound.domain.com ->78.38.2.8. Explain me how to configure reverse lookup, for MX record->78.38.2.8 or sending mail IP ( 78.38.2.9). or what is the best practise Thanks Uday Kiran, Senior Consultant Cyquent Technology Consultants, Dubai Please Mark as answer if it helps you

valid PRT record should be the source SMTP server's IP address. the one you are using for sending (78.38.2.9) then cofirm your settings from http://testexchangeconnectivity.com and check outbound emial Thank you Dhruv

Hi, Valid PTR record is the source SMTP server’s IP address on the public DNS server. So PTR record should point to your external (outbound mail IP: 78.38.2.9). Hope this helps.
