Room Resource Issue
Background:We recently migrated to Exchange 2007 and setup our conference rooms as "meeting room" resources. Our users book the rooms using the Rooms button in Outlook 2007.
Issue:When users cancel the meeting request and send the cancellation notice the room resource is not deleting the appointment. Instead it'sadding "Canceled:" to the front of the subject. It appears to be changing to free however it's not freeing the resource up. When someone else tries to book a meeting during that time they are receving the message that it's unavailable.
We attemped to setup a rule that would forward any new messages with "Canceled:" in the subject to a user so they could manage these. The messages forwarded correctly but clicking the Remove from Calendar button does nothing. (This user has full rights to the resource.) It doesn't even work from the notification in the resources own inbox. The only way to remote it is to open the meeting request on the resource and click Remove from Calendar from there.
Is there a way to have cancellations automatically deleted from the calendar? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ah nevermind... figured it out.
I found the following tidbit on changes to resource scheduling when using Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2007. The key text is highlighted red. (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA100926831033.aspx)
Resource scheduling When an Exchange 2007 e-mail account is used in connection with the new Exchange Calendar Assistant, the Resource Scheduling feature that Outlook uses to automatically respond to meeting requests on behalf of resources does not work. (The Resource Scheduling feature should not be confused with the Direct Booking feature, which still works.) The reason that the Outlook autorespond feature for resources does not work on Exchange 2007 is that the Exchange 2007 Calendar Assistant automatically processes all meeting requests, precluding the need for the Outlook autoresponse feature. When you use Office Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2007 together, you cannot use the Resource Scheduling feature (Tools menu, Options command, Calendar Options command, Resource Scheduling command) to manage conference rooms. You must now use a new Exchange 2007 feature called the Resource Booking Assistant. This feature provides all of the functionality of the earlier resource scheduler.
We were using the basic Outlook Resource Scheduling feature and not the Resource Booking Assistant. Essentially you create the resource and then configure it using shell commands. You can pretty quickly tell the difference because the wrong way sends a pop-up message to confirm booking a resource (or decline it). The correct way sends an e-mail response for the same thing.
