Routing Master has been deleted
I am running Exchange 2007 with 2 NLB'd hub transport/Client access servers and an SCR cluster on the back end. This was a new install of Exchange 2007, no upgrade from 2k or 2k3. I am getting the following error when I run the Exchange BPA: The nominated routing group master for routing group 'Exchange Routing Group (DWBGZMFD01QNBJR)' has been deleted. This may cause mail flow problems. Server name: CN=%server%\0ADEL:eba51438-77fd-45e0-b12b-2a09acd987a9,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=%DOMAIN%,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=%DOMAN%,DC=AD. (I added %DOMAIN% and %SERVER%) I read the following posts and don't even have routing groups in the locations specified: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3513889&SiteID=17 http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3747691&SiteID=17 What should I do to get rid of this error? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I brought me to an Exchange 2003 article. Which is nice, except there is no System Manager in 2007.

Dear customer: If the first Exchange 2007 Server installed to the E2k7 "Exchange Administrative Group" was deleted from the Admin group, then a new E2k7 server was installed. It will cause this issue. you can try to fix the issue via the following steps: Use ADSIEdit.msc to copy locate the Exchange 2007 Server object then copy it's DN. Use ADSIEdit.msc to modify the Distinguished Name of the MSExchRoutingGroupMasterDN to point to the DN of the new server object instead of the deleted object.DETAILED STEPS: -Open Start, Run, type ADSIEdit.msc-Expand CN=Configuration-Expand CN=services-Expand CN=Microsoft Exchange-Expand CN=<Exchange Org Name>-Expand CN=Administrative Groups-Expand CN=Exchange Administrative Group-Expand CN=Routing Groups-Expand CN=Exchange Routing Group-select CN=Exchange Routing Group-Right click and select properties-Select MSExchRoutingGroupMasterDN-Select Edit-The DN path for the DELETED server object should appear here.-Select CLEAR-Paste in the DN (Distinguished Name) of the Exchange Server that should host the MSExchRoutingGroupMasterDN.-Set OK and Apply Allow time for AD Replication and run ExBPA again to test the result. Hope it helps. Rock Wang - MSFT

Very helpful. Am I correct in concluding that the DN of the Exchange Server is not the DN of the computer, but rather the DN of this Exchange Server entry? CN=<exchange-server-name>,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (<administrative-group-id>),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=<exchange-organization-name>,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration[,DC=<domain-name>]...
