SBS2008 standard hangs every now and then
We are running windows Small business server 2008 std on a intel server. From the day we installed the server we have had endless problems, the server will just hang for no reason and it is very intermittend. We have been back to supliers and we swopped
out all the major components ( eg. Motherboard, CPUs, Ram, Raid controller).
Sometimes we can go for a week without needing to reboot, but other days we need to reboot the server twice or three times. When the server hangs, you see a black screen with a blinking cursor on the left top of the screen.
I have checked the logs and can't pin point what can cause this. Please can someone assist? Is there a know issue with SBS2008?

Hi
First, this is a Exchange forum and you are running a SBS product, for better responses post this in the SBS forum
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/smallbusinessserver/threads
I would start with checking memory, hdd's, controller cards etc.
Also try to see if there are any logic in the problem if it occurs after something special etc.Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog:

Thank you Jonas
Sorry, I am new this forum thing. I have now posted this thread on the Small business link, as per your advise.
We did however change the Memory and controller. We also checked the harddrives in the raid, and it appears to be fine. ( online ) . The weird thing is, its never at the same time or when someone is doing anything specific.
