I have a client who deployed SBS 2011 Standard themselves and the backup failed several months back without them noticing. (the reason for regular testing of backups!!!). The server has crashed into an infinite reboot loop. I was about to move them over to Office365 P1 anyway as they only require these features. All but one user have outlook setup and up-to-date to the point of the server crash, so these have been exported and imported into the new Office365 accounts. The server is not required anymore so repairing it is not required. I just need to recover 1 account from the server's hard drive, in offline mode as the server will not boot. What is the best way to go about this?

Check out Lucid8's DigiScope http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp which will allow you to open any offline Exchange Mailbox or Public Folder database so that you can Browse, View, Search, Export or Recover Mailboxes, Folders and Individual items to PST, MSG and XML or you can Recover items directly from the offline databases to Production Exchange Servers even cross version i.e. 2003 --> 2010 So in your case you could use DigiScope to open the offline database and export the entire contents to PST so that you can then upload to Office 365 Troy Werelius www.Lucid8.com Search, Recover, & Extract Mailboxes, Folders, & Email Items from Offline EDB's and Live Exchange Servers with Lucid8's DigiScope
