SBS 2008 Domain Name Assistance
This is my first time setting up a server. I currently have a registered .comwith Yahoo Biz but all of my machines are on a workgroup. When I setup SBS 2008 it will default to .local as the internal domain extension. I know I can us an information file to change the full DNS to the .com extension, but I'm confused about what I have read that does not recommend using the .com for the internal domain. Can or should the .local be eventually linked to the .com for exchange setup and other expected growth.Thank youfor your consideration.

Hi,Of course, using the .com for the internal domain is not recommended due to security. Please be assured that we can set up the Internet Address (.com)in the SBS 2008 Console based on your needs. That could ensure the email address have the .com extension.Below is the article you can view as reference:http://blogs.technet.com/sbs/archive/2008/10/15/introducing-the-internet-address-management-wizard-part-1-of-3.aspxHope that helps.ThanksAllen
