Hi ,

Did you like to have send-as email address to be the default email address in the from field of user outlook while sending the new email ? If so then based on my knowledge we need to use the third party tools .

Hi Nithyanandham,

That is exactly what am I looking for but this is demo version. Is there another solution which is free and working. Here I need to have test word in mail address.

Hi Ultra_Cool,

There is no straight forward way to default the From Field in Outlook to be visible.

Normally whenever users Turn it ON once, it stays until user disables it.

Best option would be To Force FROM field to show in new emails via Group Policy.

However it's not readily available in group policy, but you can change it in the registry as a login script or something per user. Maybe as a GPPreferences option.

The registry path is as below:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Preferences
ShowFrom is a REG_DWORD and you want it set to 1 not 0.

Group Policy Administrative Template files (ADMX, ADML) and Office Customization Tool (OCT) files for Office 2013:

Group Policy location: User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Outlook 2013\Outlook Options\Preferences\E-mail Options

Hi,

Guess I got it wrong.

Check these:

Outlook 2010 does not honor the default sending account

Send As a Delegate or a Distribution Group by default

Change default and delegate/shared mailbox

When you want to change the default to another mailbox to which you also have Full Access permissions, then you can configure your mail profile with that mailbox instead and add your own as a delegate mailbox.

Configure an additional Exchange account

When you use Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013 and have Full Access permissions on the other mailbox, then you can also configure that mailbox as an additional Exchange account rather than adding it as a Delegate mailbox.

By adding it as an additional account, Outlook will automatically set the From field based on the mailbox that you are in.

Hi ,

Thanks for your reply .

In case if you are comfortable with additional email account then we can configure that profile in outlook by using below mentioned option.

file------>Account Settings ----->Email----->New-------->provide the target mailbox name and email address ---->No need to provide the password-------->Then click next ------->finish .

Don' t forget to have the full access permission on the target account by disabling the auto mapping option. Please use the below mentioned command.

Add-MailboxPermission -Identity "target mailbox" -User "user going to have send as permission" -AccessRights FullAccess -InheritanceType All -AutoMapping $false

If you are not interested on the above option then we need to purchase any of the third party software to achieve your goal.

Hi,

Generally, the default email account email address would be shown in the From field automatically when composing a new message in Outlook. There is no method to change the default settings for changing the From field to another email address automatically for the default account.

As a workaround, we can consider Nithyanandhams suggestion to setup another profile for Send as mailbox which you also have full access permission in Outlook. Then when you open this shared mailbox, create a new message, the From field would automatically be the Send As mailbox email address.

Regards,
