SMTP Connector
Hi, We have 3rd party software that acts like a SPAM Filterring System, this is also serves as our SMTP Connector on our Exchange 2003. However, Everytime a users try to send large amount of email (5MB w/attachment) it will stuck on Queue and I need to delete the email so that other email will go through. Is there a way to check for the sending capabilities of our exchange or the 3rd party software, I'm running out of options here any idea from you guys would be very helpful. Sincerely, Gerald

By Default, exchange will only hold emails , if there is AV running which will scan the email before it processes it to the connector. Try running message tracking which will give you fair amount of idea, where exactly the mails are getting stuck. Normally SPAM filters will hold emails for a while for matching the SPAM signatures and then will relase it.Raj

Hi,First please try to use message tracking tool to check which queue that the messgae hung. Then please check the Delivery restriction on SMTP connector(Connectors),User(ADUC),Message Delivery(Global Settings).Exchange 2000 Server and Exchange Server 2003 Message Restrictionshttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996221(EXCHG.65).aspx Then please try to disable spam filtering system and then check the issue again. Also I recommend you to use Queue Viewer to get more detail information and then post here.Note: Please increase the diagnostic logging level for Microsoft Transport services to obtain the additional information. How to use Queue Viewer to troubleshoot mail flow issues in Exchange Server 2003http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823489 Regards,Xiu
