Have you got a PIX firewall? If so turn off SMTP packet inspection....gmail seems to not like it.
On another note, are you queue's stacked up, or could your exchange server have become a botnet?

I'd run TCPdump between the exchange server and the firewall and between the firewall and your inet connection to see what is holding up the message.
Do they eventually NDR? What error code? Have you got SMTP logging turned all the way up on the Exchange server?

I also have the same problem sending to Gmail from Exchange 2003 and we also have a Watchguard Firewall.
The emails usually deliver after hours. I have yet to trace the problem down but it does sound like watchguard may be a key ingredient to the problem.

Looks like you'll want to make sure there are no SMTP proxy configs in the watchguard.

Hi,
Yes SMTP proxy is enabled at the firewall side ,, is the problem is occuring due to this...???
As I am still facing mail delay recieving at GMAIL.com from my domain...
As I am not much aware of Watchguard , if I disbaled the same what harm could I face.??
Please suggest some solution...
Thanks

To be safe, i'd get on the phone with watchguard support. Basically you want to make sure port 25 is still open to the box while turning off any esmtp packet inspection.
