SMTP Virtual Server not visible
In the Exchange System Manager under the SMTP protocol there is no SMTP Virtual Server listed to modify. I do have a connector configuredthat is using the "DefaultSMTP Virtual Server"and SMTP traffic is routing through the Default Virtual server on my Exchange box.
Is this by design or do I have a problem? There was some paremeters I wanted to get to on the virtual server that are unavailable on the connector.
THanks
Jeff

A DefaultSMTP Virtual Server should definitely be listed under the SMTP protocol in the ESM. It sounds like it somehow got deleted, so you might want to create a new.

I attempt to create another virtual and it says"server not operational". The connector thinks it is connecting via the "Default SMTP Virtual Server" on my server under
administrative groups>first administrative group>routing groups>first routing group>copnnectors>Memphis-SMTP>General tab on Properties page
but asI said it doesn't show in the SMTP protocol folder under
administrative groups>first administrative group>servers>Memphis>protocols>SMTP.
Having the same issue with the POP3 server that is functioning but is not visible in ESM.
THanks in advance,
Jeff

Can you verify if it is visisble through ADSIEDIT? It looks like your default permissions were changed somehow.

What exactly am I looking for? Exchange is listed unde the services correctly identifiying the exchange server. There is a listing for the SMTP service under
cn=configuration>cn=services>cn=Microsoft Exchange>cn=provvista>cn=firstadministrative group> cn=servers>cn=memphis>cn=protocols>cn=SMTP>cn=1
with three items under it
cn=domain
cn=routing sources
cn=sessions
Where to next?
THanks in advance for the help,
Jeff
