SMTP logging on Exchange Server 2003 fails
Hi All, I am trying to generated SMTP logs on Exchange Server 2003. I followed the steps in http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Logging_the_SMTP_Service.html. Then I send some mails to the subscriber on that exchange system. I was expecting folder SMTPSVC1 will generate with the logs. But no luck. May I know what is missing and how I can get rid of this issue? Thanks in advance.

Hi, There is no SMTPSVC folder or the folder is empty? Please check the following settings in Exchange system manager: your sever name | Protocols | SMTP | SMTP virtual server | make sure the active log format is W3C Extended log file format and enable logging is checked | properties | general tab, please check the log file directory and log file name in that tab. Is that correct? Thanks, Elvis

Hi Karl,Yes I did that. I sent a message from and to on the same Exchange address. I think in this case also it should log some entries in SMTP logs .
