SMTP service is hanging - Help!
On our Exchange 2003 server the SMTP service is becoming unresponsive about once every two weeks. The only error message that is thrown is EVENT ID: 9100 "The MAD Monitoring thread was unable to read the queue information, error '0x8007000e'. " The SMTP service is unresponsive and cannot be restarted. A reboot of the server fixes the issue, but I would like to try and figure out what is causing the issue. Any suggestions? Thanks Dean

Hi Dean, Error '0x8007000e' says something is running out of memory. Below link says that you need to verify the WMI on you Exchange server when you get this errors. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Exchange&ProdVer=6.5.6940.0&EvtID=9100&EvtSrc=MSExchangeSA&LCID=1033 Secondthing if Windows 2003 SP2 is installed on Exchange 2003 server then I would suggest you to disable the Chimney of Scalable Networking Packfeature.
