SP3 RUx Install
Hi,
I'm currently updating our automated Hub/CAS build to install Exchange 2007 SP3 & RU1. After install we previously updated some Edge Transport config to increase cache. However with the SP3 / RU combined install (not upgrade) (i.e.
rollup in Updates folder) the Edge transport config file is empty.
The file is "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Bin\EdgeTransport.exe.config"
With a straight SP3 install the file is circa 5KB with multiple options for updates
With a straight SP3 followed by RU1 the file still contains all the options With an SP3/RU combined install the file is near empty:
<configuration>
<runtime>
<generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false" />
</runtime>
</configuration>
This means I cannot update the database cache nor any other option (without manually creating the CONFIG file)
Anyone else seen this - is it expected?
Cheers,
Si

Seems like RU1 didn't installed properly.
Have you tried to uninstall RU 1 and reinstall it again?Gulab | Skype: gulab.mallah

Symptom: Edgetransport.exe.config file is missing almost all keys after exchange 2007
SP3 install and a RU in the updates folder
Current workaround: Connect exchange server to the Internet
Solution: The symptom has been noticed and investigatingPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Thanks James-Luo.
Unfortunately connecting Exchange servers to the internet is not going to be an option. I guess I'll just have to replace the XML file myself on any newly installed server.
I believe the issue occurs with SP2 also.
Has this only just been seen, or is this a known issue for some time?
Thanks,
Si
