SQL Server Migration Wizard for Access (Office 2013 subscription version) always reports 'nothing to do'

I used the migration assistant dozens of times before migrating from the Technet version of Office to the paid subscription version. Now the migration assistant no longer functions because it reports that there is 'nothing to do.'

This even fails using Access database that was created before the migration to the subscription version.

Hi,

Based on my research, we may get this error message either when the database you selected in metadata explorer does not contain any objects or you do not have the necessary permissions to access those objects.

The resolution is:

Ensure that the database that you are trying to convert to SQL Server does have some objects in it and you have the necessary privileges to access them.  If you do not have the necessary permissions,  request the same from your  Database Administrator before proceeding with the migration.

1. Make a backup of the MR SQL database.

2. Download the FP1 upgrade from: https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/downloads/servicepacks/mroverview.htm

3. Uninstall the migration wizard and data provider components only. Do not uninstall the server or client components.

4. Run FP1 after extracting it and choose to upgrade the server and client components. In the same FP1 installer, you can install the new data provider and migration wizard.

5. Verify that the user you are logged in as has access to the MR client. Do this by starting Report Designer. It should allow you to at least get to the Security page if you don't have any companies set up. If you get any connection issues, follow the KB article below.

6. Run the new migration wizard and get back to meif the issue persists.

Either you don't understand what I'm even talking about or I don't understand even what you are talking about (possibly both.)!

Rather than giving you a flood of details, I tried to look at the link to mbs.microsoft.com.... and was presented with a page related to Microsoft Dynamics where users/customers must login. I have never used Microsoft Dynamics and I am not a user/customer of that product.

It seems to me that your description and instructions have nothing at all to do with what I'm doing.

I have a collection of loosely related tables that stored in tab-separated files which I can easily import into Excel.

Then I import the Excel workbooks into an Access database

Finally, I use the Migration Wizard to upload the Access database to an Azure SQL server

When I want a local backup, I read those tables back out and replace my local tab-separated files.

I do all this because it's really easy and reliable (or it used to be easy and reliable.)

But now, the migration wizard has stopped working so my entire scheme fails. I first noticed the failure after I uninstalled my Technet/evaluation copy of Office 2013 Pro and purchased an annual subscription to Office 2013 Home Premium (which is sufficient for my needs.) The failure isn't in my data or my Access database as even an Access database created before the conversion to Home Premium fails to upload.

Please try again,

Thank you!

At this point of time looking at criticality of the issue faced by you
I would suggest you to open phone support case with Microsoft as there are lots of troubleshooting and reading various logs required which is not possible via this Forum.
You can always contact Microsoft Customer Central on 1-800-936-4900 and create a phone support case.
Alternatively you can always visit http://support.microsoft.com/oas to create phone support case.
Hope this helps.
