SSL Certificate and Public DNS Record on ActiveSync, OWA, AudoDiscover and Outlook Anywhere
Thanks for reading my post. I'm trying to purchase UCC certificates for the listed services (ActiveSync, OWA, AudoDiscover and Outlook Anywhere), and we are going to publish these services later on using TMG. My questions are: 1. Can ActiveSync and OWA certificates be purchased under the same name: mail.mydomain.com? 2. Do I need to assign each of these services with a public IP address? mail.mydomain.com: 1.1.1.1 outlookanywhere.mydomain.com: 1.1.1.2 audodiscover.mydomain.com: 1.1.1.3 (if I have to separate activesync and OWA) then activesync.mydomain.com: 1.1.1.4 Thanks again! Hill

Hi Short answer without knowing anything about your setup 1. Yes, no problem 2. Yes, you can have those addresses pointing to one IP -> TMG Digicert have some nice guides about certificates, i suppose this is for Exchange 2010? Are you using single server? http://www.digicert.com/csr-creation-microsoft-exchange-2010.htm http://www.digicert.com/ssl-certificate-installation-microsoft-exchange-2010.htmJonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

Thank you both. Jonas, Yes, I'm using Exchange 2010, and I'll have to deploy the Cert to the TMG. I have 5 IP address bounded to TMG, do you suggest to separate them, meaning that one address pointing to one IP, or do you suggest to point all address to one IP on the TMG? Please advice. Thank you so much! Hill

First, check the whitepaper I did a post about publishing with TMG http://www.testlabs.se/blog/2010/07/27/how-to-publish-owaactivesyncoutlook-anywhere-exchange-2010-with-microsoft-forefront-tmg-2/ And no... you can set the different names to same ip address autodiscover -> 1.1.1.1 mail -> 1.1.1.1 outlookanywhere -> 1.1.1.1Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog
