Second Exchange Server Questions
Hello All, Recently our company experienced an issue with Exchange which caused it to be down for most of the day. Being that our company is very reliant on email functionality, it had everyone freaking for most of the day. We have Exchange 2003 in a Windows 2003 environment. We are however planning going to a Win 2008 platform with Exchange 2007. My questions are: What would be the best and fastest way to get the company back up on Exchange in the case of hardware failure, corruption or any other type of crash. How can I get a backup solution be it a cluster or secondary server or additional spare Exchange server in the domain. I don't necessarily need a prototypical "failover" solution and could deal with a little downtime to get the environment back up. Thanks, Russ

As ur requirement, Clustering is the best solution, and i was wondering why are going to 2007, rather than 2007 you should go for 2010 which has more features than 2007 and clustering is easy to implement and manage http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd351172.aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd979802.aspx http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2010/high-availability-recovery/uncovering-exchange-2010-database-availability-groups-dags-part1.html Cheers,Gulab | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2010 | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2007 | MCC 2011 | Skype: Gulab.Mallah
