I have two exchange servers. They are not clustered together. Both are on SP1. My plans are to migrate all mailboxes over to the second server and retire the first. Both are currently 2007 SP1. My question is, can I upgrade the second server to SP2 without affecting the first? I am just Leary as to what it will do when it prepares the schema for the upgrade. So is it safe?

Yes. But I would prepare the schema, forest and domain separately prior to applying the service pack to the server. It's easier to diagnose any problems that way.
