Hi,

I have a table A1:H20. The A1:H1 are headers, B2:H20 values. A2:A20 are cases. 

I would like to have a method where one could mark across the table in the following way;

1. Select a cell in column A1 - and mark with a color tag or other symbol. Then select the across the table and tag with same symbol as in column A

2. Select A2 column cell and assign a new symbol. Select across  table and mark with symbol from A2. Allow for cells to display the symbols of each case it has been marked with.

3. similar for A3:20

The symbols would sit beneath the cell text/values.

I do not know if this is possible within excel,

all your help would be greatly appreciated,
