Send As problems
I'm having trouble setting up the ability to send as another user. Client is Outlook 2007, server is Exchange 2007. Here's what I did so far:1. Created a new AD account called Testing.2. Created an Exchange account, using the AD account ("Testing")3. Set the Exchange account to forward to me4. Added my account to the Manage Send As Permission screen on the Testing account5. Waited a dayIn theory, I should be able to put the Testing email account in the From... box and send an email. Whenever I try this, I get the following error:"You are not allowed to send this message because you are trying to send on behalf of another sender without permission to do so. Please verify that you are sending on behalf of the correct sender, or ask your system administrator to help you get the required permission."Help?

Send on behalf and send as permissions tend to mess each other up, you need to check that there are absolutly no 'sond on behalf' permissions set.Find the testing mailbox on the exchange server and goto properties (not send as permissions), then goto 'mail flow settings' click delivery options, click properties and check there are no send on behalf permissions in there.Close outlook, open outlook and test again. Changes should be instant. If that doesn't work set up a outlook on a computer to connect as the test user and check there are no permissions that have been set from there. Also, try removing your 'send as' permissions and adding them again.Hope this helps,Jon

I had originally accidentally set up Send As and Send on Behalf permissions at the same time. I removed both, waited a while, then added only the Send As permissions back. Same error. The "Testing" account was set up specifically for this test, because Send As failed on another account.

Plz try this in Exchange Management Shell: Add-ADPermission "Testing" -User YourEmailAddress -ExtendedRights Send-as See if it helps. I tried the EMS command, and I get: "WARNING: Appropriate ACE is already present on object..."Looks like that didn't help. I'm pretty stumped, becuase it seems like this should just work.

Just a thought: Have you checked this by restarting the outlook? Regards,Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

Also remember that it takes nearly 2 hours to apply the permission changes to mailbox store, so it would be nice if you check that after that, or just restart the Information Store service after applying the changes. Send-as permission is directly stored in AD so it shud not take that much time but as u have said that u removed Send-on-behalf, so that may take that much time. Thanks! Looked like I just jumped the gun a bit. After waiting a while, it seems to be working now.
