Send on Behalf difference in Exchange 2007
Hi
Hope I'm posting in the right forum - if not could someone please point me towards the right area.....
If noticed a fairly significant (at least for me) difference in how 'sending on behalf of' is displayed when the client sends through an Exchange 2007 server. Basically, I want my users to be able to reply to a specific email address as that address - even if that their default. You can acheive this by creating a user with that email address as the primary, then allowing 'Send On Behalf' permissions. When you do this another user can select that mailbox in their 'From' field.
This is great - except the recipient sees the sender as "Username [user's email address] on behalf of OtherUsername [otherusername's email address]". This isn't what I want people to see - i want it to look like it's come from the OtherUserName's email address, and there's no trace of the original.
I've got around this by using Distrbution lists - I create a distribution list with the appropriate email address, then give Send As rights to the appropriate users. Now when i chose to send mail From that group, when it arrives at the recipient end it only shows the sender as being the distribution group's primary email, and there's no reference to the original sender.
In my Exchange 2007 environment, I've managed to get the 'Send on Behalf Of' to work using the Set-DistrubtionGroup management shell command. However, when I send mail I'm seeing the 'On Behalf Of' appear at the recipient's end.
Has anyone got any ideas how I can prevent this from appearing?
Thanks

You need to use the Send as permisson not the on behalf of permisson.
Shell Command
Add-ADPermission main_user user alt_user AccessRights extendedright ExtendedRight send-as
