Send on Behalf of for a Security group
Hello all,
I have a mail enabled global security group named "MIS Users" and it has 3 users as members. I also have a shared mailbox named "MIS" with "MIS Users" as full access rights. I want to be able to send mail using the send on behalf of so that the receiver see's the following:
MisUser1 on behalf of MIS
The problem I am having is assigning the correct send on behalf permissions, the following does not work.
Set-Mailbox "MIS" -GrantSendOnBehalfTo "MIS Users"
That command tells me that: MIS Users is not a mailbox user or a mail-enabled user and also that the Object "Mis Users" was not found.
Is there anyway to do this without assigning individually the users the Send on Behalf permissions.
I really appreciate any help in this matter.
Thanks

Hi,
You will have to mail-enable the security group...
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123805.aspx
and then use outlook delegation wizard to assign the required permissions...
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/273459
I think this is the only available solution...

Thanks alot for the help.
The only way it worked is if I reenabled the MIS AD account (it was disabled by default when I created the shared mailbox) and logged in with the MIS account and added the delegates then logged off and re-disabled the MIS account in AD.
Once again thanks for the help.
