Send to Onenote 2013 not working!
I installed Office 2013 on my windows 8 64bit. Tried every possible way I've found to make Send to OneNote Printer work and insert a pdf to my OneNote. but no luck.
When I print with Send to OneNote 2013 printer, nothing happens. no error, no dialog box, nothing. searched my notebook (I just have one) but it wasn't there.
Things I did to help me solve the problem:
- Updating Office 2013 via windows update
- Repairing Office 2013
- Reinstalling Office 2013
- Checking XPS Printer to see if it works (It was OK)
- Playing with Send to OneNote in Options menu
Please help!

Hi,
I am having the same problem. In options I have set OneNote 2013 64-bit to ask me where to save the notes sent onenote everytime. But it never does. After sending to onenote nothing happens. No dialog pops up and the notes are not saved in OneNote. It was
working well in Onenote 2010.
Were you able to find a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

My suggestion is to uninstall your crappy Windows 8, put it in a box, and ship it back to Microsoft.

I have the same problem and have tried all of what you have tried and even uninstalled Office 2013 64bit and tested the OneNote printer with the 32bit Office 2013, but still did not work.
Problem is that this breaks my paperless workflow with scanning and printing to OneNote so it is a major bug for me.
As I do not expect to get a solution from this forum I will try to get an answer from MS support and see if I can at least make OneNote developpers aware on their blog(s).

Same problem and troubleshooting here. Even tried installing on a fresh OS with no other printers. Very aggravating considering this is the only reason I was using onenote 2010 on my old computer. Hopefully somebody shows up with a solution because I'm
out of ideas.

This worked: I went and installed a second party pdf viewer for my browser (pdf xchange viewer for chrome - make sure you disable the chrome viewer at chrome://plugins) and for whatever reason I'm now able to send to onenote properly again. I had previously
tried 'print' > 'send to onenote' using ie, ff, and chrome's built in print commands and also disabling them and using the general Windows print dialogue. This was the only thing that worked.

I had same problem, fixed error by finding a PC with OneNote 2013 that had NOT been updated and replacing the newer ONEBttnIE.dll with the older version. The older version of ONEBttnIE.dll is larger than the newer version.

Same problem, hugely frustrating.
Working in a Business Computer with restricted User Account Control, I cannot re-install. The only work around I found is to print the PDF to XPS, and then drag and drop the xps file into Onenote 2013, which then allows you to insert the printout.
Microsoft.... please fix this!

I tried this and found it worked also. I didn't install a new pdf viewer, I just disabled the Chrome pdf viewer and tried it and now it works. So apparently something in that plug in is interfering with the OneNote code.

Disabling Chrome viewer did it for me. Thanks

Try this:
Start Task Manager
Click on the "Startup" tab
Make sure the "Send to OneNote Tool" has a status of "Enabled". If not, change it to "Enabled".
Restart your PC. It should work now.

Thanks this worked for me. Although I had to disable and restart this

Hi there,
I was having the same problem. So frustrating!
I went to "Devices and Printers" > "Send to One Note 2013" printer icon
Then went to printer properties. This prompted me to install a driver, and I chose one of the two Microsoft One Note 2015 drivers. The first did not work, but after installing the second driver I can now print PDFs to my One Note!
I would recommend trying this for those struggling.
Cheers.
