Send to Onenote is disable in Outlook 2013
Hi,
in OL2013 the "Send to OneNote" functionality is disabled.
I have add the ONBttnOL.dll from the Office15 Folder to the add-Ons, but the functionality is disabled.
Printing to OneNote 2013 works and also send to OneNote from IE.
What can I do?

In these scenario, i will try the following:
If you're using Windows 7 or Windows 8, then try the following steps to make sure that you installed the Outlook integration or not:
1) Click Start, type programs and features in the Search box, and then press ENTER.
2) Right-click on the version of Office or OneNote that is installed, and then click Change. (it may prompt repair option)
3) Select Add or Remove Features, and then click Continue.
4) Expand Microsoft OneNote.
5) Expand Send to OneNote Add-ins.
6) If there is an X next to Outlook Integration, click on the X, and then click Run from My Computer.
7) Click Continue.
In Outlook 2013, you can check this:
1) On the File menu, click Options.
2) Click Add-ins.
3) If OneNote Notes about Outlook Items is listed under Inactive Application Add-ins, follow these steps:
4) In the Manage box, click COM Add-Ins, and then click Go.
5) In the COM Add-Ins dialog box, click to select the OneNote Notes about Outlook Items check box, and then click OK.
If you still notice the issue, I would presume it will require the "Repair" option, which you can do this using "Program and features" section. Try this out and let me know how it goes.

Hi,
I have check all the steps in your answer (repair Office and check the Add-Ons) , but Onenote Integration is still disabled.
Finally, i have remove the complete Office Installation and reinstall it (Office 2013prof plus 32bit on Windows 8 pro 64bit, both Versions are German)
Outlook Integration was/is set in the Install.
OneNote Outlookaddin is loaded and activate in Outlook, but the "send to OneNote" Button is disabled.
What can I do next?

did you ever fix this? i have a similar problem, getting an error message: "The OneNote add-in cannot connect to Onenote. You can try to restart OneNote. If the problem persists, it is possible that add-ins are disabled by your system administrator."
it used to work.
i have posted in various places, and if i get any reply at all, it is the same ideas that deva suggested. they haven't worked for me either.

Seeing the same problem here. The Add-In is checked and active in Outlook 2010 (Win7), OneNote buttons display in Outlook but are disabled (Tried to attach a screenshot but my account is -- apparently -- not verified).
Interestingly, OneNote *can* pull meetings from Outlook into notes, so the integration isn't busted in that direction.
FYI -- I have tried all of the above suggestions, including repairing the installation. No joy.

this seems to be an issue that is ignored. i have posted in numerous forums, and mostly get no response. for one thing, not so many people use onenote. and with performance and support like this, it is understandable.
btw: the onenote icons in outlook are not disabled for me. (except in a couple of contacts) . but they only return the error message when I use them.
i just uninstalled for the second time, using revo uninstaller this time, and reinstalled. didn't help. not having this problem on laptop. also checked services running on laptop and desktop and see none relevant that are running on laptop, but not
on desktop.
so, i am out of ideas. only other thing that makes sense is a reg entry, but i wouldn't know where to look. other possibility is that a ms update broke it. again i don't know which to try uninstalling. i lost the history when ms update failed last
month and the only way to fix it was to delete the folder containing update history.
too bad the ms techs, who supposedly know more about this than I aren't interested in helping. or, maybe they don't no any more than i do and have nothing to suggest.
i am also investigating use of other software, open office, and evernote. still need to find an email client, calendar and task manager. perhaps non ms software is less prone to sudden and inexplicable pro

I am hoping this will help someone else. The following worked for me.
1. Open Outlook 2013. File/Options/Add-Ins. -- I noticed "OneNote Notes about Outlook Items" was disabled.
2. At the bottom where it says MANAGE, i changed the drop down to Disabled Items, and hit Go
3. I then highlighted the OneNote item, and selected ENABLE
4. Then closed Outlook.
5. Reopened Outlook, file/options Add-ins.
6. At the bottom where it says MANAGE, i chose COM Addins this time, and checked the box next to the ONE NOte item.
The shortcut appeared for me in Outlook in the MOVE section.

thank mtj7009, sad to say that this doesn't help with the problem for me. the ON addin has been enabled and shortcut has appeared in taskbars all along. it used to work, but recently, clicking it just gets an error message about not being able
to connect with ON.
seems that no one knows a solution to this problem.

Same problem here....have spent hours trying to resolve it....no solution yet.....seems to be a registry issue, but that is too complicated for me to have the answer...hopefully somebody who knows the deep dark side will offer a solution

my previous reply was regarding the problem with office 2010. Since I have installed office 2013, and so far, the Outlook link to Onenote is working. It is too bad that someone who knows about reg entries isn't offering suggestions about what
keys to check.

OneNote 2013 now uses a clip menu that you can use to actually copy anything you can see on your screen and send it directly to OneNote. You can specifiy not only the content but also the folder you want to send it to. It's not worth all the trouble to add
it to the menu bar for each and every program, however, there may be some advantages of doing it the old way that I am not aware of. '
Look for the N with the scissors next to it at the bottom of your screen. Good luck

this all works fine, however it seems if you have office 2010 the button 'send to one note' will be permanently grey. Nothing you can do to get this button to enable. plugins all install etc, but nothing will make that button light up. A shame, it would
be useful.

Don't know if this helps but I had the very same issue with OneNote. But when I start using OneNote2013, the integration worked as expected.

This worked, thank you so much!

Ok, so I finally made this work, but none of the above worked for me. What I did was:
- Click Start, type programs and features in the Search box, and then press ENTER.
- Right-click on the version of Office or OneNote that is installed, and then click Change.
- Select Add or Remove Features, and then click Continue.
- Expand Microsoft OneNote.
- Expand Send to OneNote Add-ins.
- If there is an X next to Outlook Integration, click on the X, and then click Run from My Computer.
- Click Continue
Problem is: the "Run from My Computer" option was already enabled. So, what I did was disabling it, completed the installation, then performed the same steps again and re-enabled it, completing the installation once more. After that, the "Meeting Notes"
option became enabled on the "Meeting" menu of Outlook.
